Under the Shri Kedarnath Dham Yatra Kapatotsav Program 2025, the Panchmukhi Doli of Lord Kedarnath departed for the Dham on Monday with a grand ceremony with the devotional tunes of the Indian Army band. The doors of Shri Kedarnath Dham will be opened for the devotees on Friday, May 2, 2025 at 7 am.
Preparations for the Kapatotsav are going on in full swing by Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC). In this sequence, on Sunday, 27 April, the worship of Shri Bhairavnath Ji, the protector of Shri Kedarpuri, was duly completed at Shri Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath.
Today on Monday morning at 10:30 am, the Panchmukhi festival idol of Shri Kedarnath Bhagwan was sent to the Dham with the melodious tunes of the army band in the presence of Rawal Bhimashankar Ling, special guests and BKTC Chief Executive Officer Vijay Prasad Thapliyal. Before this, the Panchmukhi idol was given Panch Snaan and grand decorations were done and it was seated in the Doli.
On this occasion, Shri Omkareshwar temple was decorated grandly with flowers and a large number of devotees took darshan and gained virtue.
The Panchmukhi Doli will reach Shri Vishwanath Temple, Guptkashi today via Ukhimath, Sansari, Vidyapeeth and Guptkashi Bazaar. Devotees are welcoming the Doli with flowers at various places. Students of schools are also queuing up to welcome the Panchmukhi Doli.
During this festival, Vijay Prasad Thapliyal, Chief Executive Officer, BKTC extended his heartfelt greetings to the devotees and said that:
On 28 April (Monday): The night halt of the Doli will be at Shri Vishwanath Temple, Guptkashi.
April 29 (Tuesday): Departure from Guptkashi to Phata and night stay.
April 30 (Wednesday): Departure from Phata to Shri Gaurimata Temple, Gaurikund and night stay.
May 1 (Thursday): Last departure from Gaurikund to Shri Kedarnath Dham.
May 2 (Friday): The doors of Shri Kedarnath Dham will be opened for devotees at 7 am.
BKTC Media Incharge Dr. Harish Gaur informed through a press release that the arrangements for drinking water, electricity system, cleaning of Bhog Mandi, repair of temple office, puja office and darshan queue have been improved in Shri Kedarnath Dham. Residential arrangements for the priests and employees have also been completed.
On this auspicious occasion, Shri Kedarnath MLA Asha Nautiyal, in-charge Chandi Prasad Bhatt, Nagar Panchayat President Kubja Dharmwan, In-charge Officer Girish Deoli, Kedar Sabha President Rajkumar Tiwari, Senior Administrative Officer DS Bhujwan, Yaduveer Pushpawan, Temple In-charge Ramesh Negi, priests and representatives of the Tirtha Purohit community were present.
Doli In-charge Pradeep Semwal, Manager Arvind Shukla, Pushkar Rawat, Kuldeep Dharmwan and other officers and employees also participated in the event.
