Zara Dar said that she does not want to live a life where there is a constant fear of losing the job, having to make a budget according to the salary, and always living in a rented house.

Zara Dar said that during her PhD, she started creating content on OnlyFans. It was a 'side project' for her, but she earned one million dollars (about Rs 8 crore) from it. With this money, she paid off her family's home loan and also bought a car for herself. Zara says,

"I am happy that I never took a student loan. Now I have my own investment portfolio and I am planning to buy my own house,"

Zara says that now she can focus on topics that she really finds interesting, not those that funding agencies find interesting. She said, "Most professors in the US earn $100,000 (more than 85 lakhs) annually and spend most of their time writing grant proposals, not doing research." Zara, who has become an OnlyFans model, says that this was not the life she had imagined for herself.
